SELF-EXILED Georgian filmmaker Otar Iosseliani yesterday lambasted Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili, saying his country’s pro-Western leader is a “madman”.

“I say that literally,” Italian daily La Repubblica quoted the multi-prize-winning director as saying. “We are in the hands of a man who does not have the slightest idea of how to govern and who has fallen prey to his fantasy of omnipotence. It is obvious (to me) that he panicked and that he has fallen into the trap of Russian provocation.”
